MLK Community Center recognizes Foremost at its 40th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala
DALLAS (January 17, 2022) – Foremost Family Health Centers was awarded the Excellence Award by the City of Dallas Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center and Advisory Board at its 40th annual MLK Scholarship and Awards Gala held virtually on January 15th 2022.
The Excellence Award recognizes corporations and nonprofit organizations that have routinely and historically collaborated with the MLK Community Center to implement best practices and positively impact their communities.
Accepting the award on behalf of Foremost Family Health Centers was its chief executive officer, Joyce Tapley.

“We are a long-standing partner with the Martin Luther King Community Center and the City of Dallas,” explained Ms. Tapley in her acceptance speech. As a part of his award presentation, the emcee noted Foremost has supported the MLK Center – and the South Dallas community – by providing a number of community outreach services, including COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, supporting the Center’s Spring Extravaganza, Juneteenth Celebration Drive-Thru, School Drive-Thru Festival, Thanksgiving Baskets and number of other campaigns and initiatives.
“My team and I believe everyone in Dallas County,” asserts Tapley “deserves quality, respectful and convenient health care. The disparities in health care outcomes are real — and they must be confronted. That’s a mission we have accepted.”
